You know when you're young and your dreams of growing up to become a mermaid, unicorn or pre-2007 Britney Spears are squashed by The Man?

Well, Mark Wright has just proved we should’t give in so easily as ANYTHING is possible.

This is because, the TOWIE star has been nominated for a BAFTA.

OK, so it's a Children's BAFTA. But a bloody BAFTA nonetheless.

Don't give up on your dreams, kids.

The Essex boy is up for a British Academy Children’s Award for his CBBC show The Dengineers.

Never heard of it? Us neither, but apparently it’s quite good.

The show basically consists of Mark, along with his co-star Lauren Layfield and a team of designers and engineers, running around making luxury dens for children.

Sounds FUN.

We’d like to invite Mark to our house to make a den. We'd like ours to be in the bedroom though and Mark would, of course, have to be naked.

Anyway: back to the kids' show.

The Dengineers seems to have a been big hit and could even be Mark's ticket to breaking America, as the show has been picked up by US network Discovery Channel Family.

It could be viewed by up to 70 million people Stateside, so if Mark goes it could offer the TOWIE star some serious exposure across the pond.

For now though, The Dengineers has some tough competition in the entertainment category at the Children's BAFTAs.

Mark's show is up against the likes of Matilda And The Ramsay Bunch (starring Gordon Ramsay's daughter, FYI), Art NINJA, and Sam and Mark's Big Friday Wind-Up.

Oh and you know the fitster voice over guy from Love Island? He's also up for an award for best presenter for his CBBC show The Dog Ate My Homework.

Mark has previously had a taste of BAFTA glory when TOWIE took home the Youtube Audience Award at the BAFTA Television Awards in 2011.

The Children's awards ceremony will be held at the Roundhouse, London, on Sunday 20 November.
