Jennifer Aniston, who was made the subject of multiple pregnancy rumours earlier this year, has lashed out at the media and paparazzi for hounding her and husband Justin Theroux.

The notoriously private star has written an essay for the Huffington Post slamming the "objectification and scrutiny" that women are put through.

"Let me start by saying that addressing gossip is something I have never done," she said.

" I don't like to give energy to the business of lies, but I wanted to participate in a larger conversation that has already begun and needs to continue. Since I'm not on social media, I decided to put my thoughts here in writing.

"For the record, I am not pregnant. What I am is fed up. I'm fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of 'journalism,' the 'First Amendment' and 'celebrity news'."

Jennifer went on to blast the lengths some paps will go to to get a shot of her, "even if it means endangering us or the unlucky pedestrians who happen to be nearby".

She also talked about the "absurd and disturbing" objectification of women in the public eye, calling for a "different perspective" so we can see cultural beauty standards are – basically – total bullsh.

"We are in charge of our agreement. Little girls everywhere are absorbing our agreement, passive or otherwise," Jennifer added.

It comes after weeks of speculation that the ex-Friends star and her husband were expecting their first child, with one US tabloid 'confirming' the news in June 2016.
