Katie has shared a video on Instagram defending her use of the n-word on This Morning earlier today.

Appearing on the show as part of her campaign calling for stricter punishments for online trolls, Katie shocked viewers with her use of the offensive slur and was scolded by the show's host Philip Schofield when she revealed her son had been called the n-word.

Katie questioned: "Is it strong enough to call my son a black blind [n-word], is that not abuse? They called him a golliwog, that’s my son, is that acceptable?"

She then reiterated: “Calling my son a [n-word] is just not acceptable."

Her choice of language didn't sit well with Phil, who promptly told her: "You don't need to say that word again."

Yep. Definitely not OK.

After her chat with Phil and Holly Willoughby Katie posted a video on Instagram justifying her use of the word.

She said: "Yes I did use the word. Because that's what people call my son. They call him a blind, [n-word], black spastic, they call him a gollywog. So, I'm glad I've made headlines using that word, because I want to get it out there that it's not acceptable."

She continued: "There's all people out there that have to put up with this abuse, because I'm in the public eye I can put a stop to it.

"Online bullying has to stop. Please sign my petition and get these online, horrible, trolling bullies off."
