The news of This Morning presenter Ferne McCann's pregnancy first broke last weekend as her ex-boyfriend and father of her baby Arthur Collins was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an acid attack at London's Mangle E8 club on April 17th.

Arthur has since appeared in court to be charged with 14 counts of Bodily Harm (GBH), and Ferne has released a statement that revealed that she plans to distance herself from her ex-boyfriend and is planning to raise her child on her own.

Her spokesperson told The Mirror: "Ferne is grateful for the sympathetic way news of her pregnancy has been covered and people's support and obviously her first concern is for her child's health.

"Accordingly, she does not wish to discuss the pregnancy further given the early stage it is at and the immense strain that Ferne is currently under. Nor does she wish to discuss her ex-boyfriend who she does not recognise from the events of the last week.

"Ferne is in no way seeking sympathy for her situation and is determined to do all she can to have a happy and healthy child and face the challenges of being a single parent with all her energy.

"Her thoughts are with the victims of the horrific attack on Easter Monday."

And along with her friends and family, Ferne's ITV colleague Katie Price has now offered her support and urged the former TOWIE star to 'look onward and upward'.

Katie told The Sun: "I wouldn’t like to be in her position I’ll say that, I feel for her. I've met her a few times and she’s nice.

"But she’s got to look onward and upward, she’s got a baby coming.”

And when probed to see if she knew more about Ferne's situation – This Morning and Loose Women suspiciously haven't covered any part of the news coverage this week despite it being headline news – Katie replied: "I don’t know the ins and outs, I don’t know what’s true and what isn’t."

We just hope you're OK, Ferne hun!
