Harry Styles and Simon Cowell

If we were to put a wager on who would be the most successful One Directioner during their ‘break’, we’d definitely put at least a fiver on Harry Styles. Closely followed by Liam Payne, as he's currently doing the no pants dance with Cheryl.

Lovely Harold, who’s bagged his first feature film role alongside Tom Hardy in Dunkirk (he's even lobbed his lovely locks off for it), has BIG plans to release sole material ASAP.

And because he’s got so much talent running through his bones, record companies are FIGHTING to have Harry on their books, and Simon Cowell is reportedly panicking that he will lose the star from his label, Syco, for good.

The Sun reports that Universal and Sony are in the middle of a huge bidding war, with Universal Music Group chairman Lucian Grainge doing everything in his power to lure Harry to his label.

A Sony source told the newspaper: "Harry is being offered so many incentives to stay. They’re breaking the bank for him."

Despite the fighting and the ludicrous amounts of dollah, Harry is reportedly just looking for a label that will represent him the way he wishes to be represented – away from the ties of One Direction.

A 1D insider explained: “It was obvious from day one that Harry wouldn’t stay with Simon Cowell, Syco or a Sony label.

"He wants to move as far away from the band as possible and for him that means an entirely new team based in America.

"It’s all part of a master plan being driven by his friend Jeff Azoff, who has set up his own management company to launch Harry as a solo superstar."

Sheeeesh.
