After keeping a low profile in the wake of her ex-boyfriend Arthur Collinswas arrested and charged for his involvement in a nightclub acid attack that left 20 people injured and two people blind in one eye, pregnant Ferne McCann made a brief appearance on Sam Faiers: The Mummy Diaries last night.

Former TOWIE star Ferne was seen attending Billie Faiers' baby shower with her life-long friend Sam Faiers and the trio were seen discussing child birth and...vaginas.

Ferne, who was thrilled to find out that Billie's unborn baby was no longer in the breech position, explained her amazement at women's bodies during pregnancy: "The vagina… it literally just springs back."

Billie then told cameras that Ferne knows her stuff when it comes to pregnancy: "Obviously she hasn’t given birth yet, but she knows a lot about it already."

This Morning showbiz reporter Ferne hasn't been seen TV since Arthur's arrest, but has released a statement revealing that she was expecting a baby with her now ex-boyfriend.

Her spokesperson told The Mirror: "Ferne is grateful for the sympathetic way news of her pregnancy has been covered and people's support and obviously her first concern is for her child's health.

"Accordingly, she does not wish to discuss the pregnancy further given the early stage it is at and the immense strain that Ferne is currently under. Nor does she wish to discuss her ex-boyfriend who she does not recognise from the events of the last week.

"Ferne is in no way seeking sympathy for her situation and is determined to do all she can to have a happy and healthy child and face the challenges of being a single parent with all her energy.

"Her thoughts are with the victims of the horrific attack on Easter Monday."

It is believed that Ferne will raise her child as a single parent after deleting all traces of Arthur from her social media.

Arthur has since appeared in court where he was charged with 14 counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and one count of throwing corrosive fluid on a person with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

Ciro D’Alessio, prosecuting, said: "More than 20 people were affected and two people were partially blinded – a lot are seriously affected."
