Lady Gaga says new album will be ‘less an expression of all my pain’

So it definitely won’t be a weepy Adele-type album then…

Lady Gaga has opened up about her new music and revealed that her next album is going to be a bit jollier.

Explaining that her last album, ARTPOP, in 2013 was “riddled with pain”, Lady Gaga says that acting on American Horror Story has given her a new outlet so she doesn’t need to express so much of herself in her music.

“Here’s what I will say: when I wasn’t working on the show I was truly miserable because I had no safe house to get out any of my vices,” she told* V Magazine*. “Now I have a safe house for my vices so when I’m making music I just have a lot more clarity.

“I have a little less of an instinct to be reckless with my music now because I’m reckless in other places. So now I’m thinking more about what it is I want to say and what I want to leave on Earth. It’s less an expression of all my pain. There will be some of my pain on the record for sure, but it will be more than that.”

Let’s hope so. We want to hear some Taylor Swift style love songs about her fiancé Taylor Kinney. Minus the breaking up and heartache.
