Summer's in full swing and we're absolutely loving it. We know it's a bit of a cliché, but everything really is better with a tan and everyone's better looking when we're peering through tinted sunglasses, right?

While we're lapping up as much of the uncharacteristically amazing British weather as possible, or jetting off far and wide for a summer vacay, our hair doesn't always play ball. From Monica Geller-style frizziness to dry and damaged ends, the summer can definitely take its toll on our hair.

But we caught up with returning TOWIE star Lauren Pope as she celebrates 10 years of Hair Rehab London with the launch of the new Weft collection, to discuss how to keep our hair looking and feeling great in summer.

Lauren Pope's top tips to keep your hair in good condition this summer

  1. Always wear a hair protector or hair SPF

"I feel like a lot of people don’t take them seriously but they do make a difference, especially with extensions it’s like whatever you do with your own hair times it by ten in terms of care."

  1. Wear your hair in braids

"If you have long hair, always braid it at night."

  1. Wear a hat

"If you have colour on it, try and wear a hat to protect it from the sun."

  1. Try a fancy top not or a bun

"[Hair Rehab London] have got a clip-on bun that goes over your own hair so you can pull it all up, do a top knot with it so all your own hair is inside, especially your ends that can go especially dry in the sun."

  1. Try a hair mask

"Tony & Guy do a great hair mask to repair any holiday damge to your hair."

Now that we've got a hair looking fleek, how can we make sure our skin's summer ready?

I’m a massive fan of Sudocrem, so I use that when I get spots.

I also love a good fake tan. When I was younger I was so naughty I used to use sun beds all the time, but now even when I go on holiday I don’t even tan that much. I don't like laying in the sun, I just look burnt and it ages me.

Congratulations on ten years of Hair Rehab London! Do you think things have changed in terms of hair extension styles and glam trends over the last ten years?

Oh, one hundred per cent. Now, in the office we’re all obsessed with ‘lived in’ hair.

In the last few years we have seen such a switch and people don’t want to look like they’re 'done-up' anymore, nobody wants to be chiselled blow dried, hair sprayed, back combed hair any more.

It's easier and in terms of maintenance cost, now is the best because you don’t have to keep up your roots all the time, lived in flatters so many people as well.

Have you ever had any hair extension disasters before?

Thankfully not because I am so conscious of it. Because this is my brand I’m so conscious of not having those errors, but when I see other people with it, it’s just like ‘oh god!’ you want to go up to them and be like ‘you need to change your hair!’ or if someone hasn’t got enough hair and you can see their own hair not blending with the extensions.
