Lena Dunham, the Girls girl, is working with HBO on a new comedy, *Max. *
The show is set in 1960s America and centres around Maxine, a magazine writer who stumbles into the second wave of the feminist movement.

Lisa Joyce from Boardwalk Empire is said to be on board playing the central character Max, and Lena is directing the first episode.
And Lena’s not the only member of Team* Girls* involved: writer-producer Murray Miller is penning the script, and fellow Girls team members Jenni Konner and Ilene Landress are supposed to be sitting in the executive producers’ chairs.
Lena has said that Girls will end after the sixth series, so Max could go a little way to fill the feminist-comedy shaped hole it will leave behind.
