Scott Disick and Sofia Ritchie seemingly confirmed their relationship last week after a series of loved-up pictures of them came to light.
And now her dad Lionel's broken his silence on their relationship, telling US Weekly: "I’m scared to death, are you kidding me?
"Have I been in shock?! I’m the dad, come on."
This comes after a source told heat recently that Sofia, 19 – who has also previously dated Justin Bieber – has told friends it’s already serious with Scott. “Sofia is really into him,” says the insider. “She says she’s head-over-heels and she doesn’t care what people think about their relationship.
“A lot of people have warned her that Scott could be bad news, but so far he’s been turning on the charm. She’s young and can be quite naïve. She’s not really been in love before, and she’s been completely swept off her feet, so the fact that Kourtney might be upset hasn’t really occurred to her.”
And if you’re wondering what her singer dad, Lionel Ritchie, makes of it, he’s not exactly dancing on the ceiling. “He’s worried about Scott’s intentions when it comes to Sofia, and he’s pretty keen on breaking them up,” says another source close to the 68-year-old legend.
“He says guys like Scott are every father’s worst nightmare: hard-partying douchebags who are in and out of rehab and don’t seem to have much respect for women, and will lead them astray. He wants Sofia’s friends to get her away from Scott.”
It was reported recently that Sofia and Scott could be engaged, and a source told us Scott’s ex Kourtney Kardashian is terrified they’ll tie the knot.
“This relationship is certainly ruffling a lot of feathers, most of them Kourtney’s,” an insider tells heat. Kourtney, 38, dated the bad boy on and off from 2006, having children Mason, seven, Penelope, five, and Reign, two, before finally splitting for good earlier this year, following persistent cheating rumours.
We’re told, “Seeing Scott with Sofia has absolutely broken Kourtney, because it looks as though they’re really in love. She hates the idea of Scott settling down with someone almost half her age – especially a famous model like Sofia. As much as Kourtney has tried to move on from Scott, and even get revenge by dating younger men [she’s currently with model Younes Bendjima, 24, and was also linked to Justin Bieber], she’s still got feelings for him. The relationship has sent shockwaves through the entire family."
