Lord Sugar tells Katie Hopkins to “shut up” after comments about Cilla Black’s death

Katie Hopkins sparked outrage after mocking celebrities who paid tribute to Cilla Black's death.

One famous face, Lord Alan Sugar was not going to keep his mouth shut and told Katie exactly how he felt.

After Katie claimed that celebs simply "rush to gush" when someone passes away, Lord Sugar told the former Apprentice star to "shut up".

Labelling her an idiot, he also tweeted his four million followers: ".@KTHopkins RT: understand people love Cilla. But the race to proclaim this on Twitter is a curious thing......why don't you shut up idiot!"

Katie didn't seem fazed at all by Lord Sugar's words and replied: "Calm down @Lord_Sugar, you know you love your favourite Apprentice really ..."

After the reality TV star, who finished as runner-up on Celebrity Big Brother, responded, Lord Sugar commented: "Enough with the controversy BS you need to know where to draw the line. This was too far."

Lord Sugar accused Katie of going "too far" after her initial tweet, which said: "When we show respect we have a minute's silence. When slebs want to be seen showing respect, there is a deafening clamour #rushtogush."

There was a mixture of feelings between fans, some agreeing with Katie while others were on Lord Sugar's side.
