The One Direction 'hiatus' was basically the worst thing to ever happen to us in our lives (apart from Honey G leaving The X Factor this weekend. RIP). They told us all they'd definitely be reforming at some point, teased us by adding and deleting a 'future events' tab on their site (prob some poor old work experience who made a mistake), but deep down we'd always been pretty sure it was neeeever gonna happen.

One Direction

An early sign of many a terrible thing to come in 2016, you could say.

But we’ve been consoled by all their solo shenanigans they’ve been up to – Harry Styles’ acting and solo career (and walking in the Victoria’s Secret show?), Niall Horan’s solo career, Liam Payne’s solo career etc etc, and now we’ve just got excited ALL OVER AGAIN, because it’s been reported that Louis Tomlinson is following in his bandmates’ footsteps.

A source told The Sun: “Louis is a brilliant songwriter and had not initially planned his own solo career.

“But he’s been back in the studio and has been working on some really amazing music.

They go on to say he’s also played some of this music to the bosses at Syco.

“They think he could be a real success as a solo artist, given his proven ability to write hit records and massive fanbase as part of 1D.”

This week has been absolutely packed full of ridiculously exciting One Direction-related news – Niall also revealed that 1D would be “silly” not to reform.

YERRRSS.

U R RIGHT, NIALL.

He told Sunday People: "We will be back. We would be silly not to... ridiculous.

"At the moment we are all doing our own thing. Harry wanted to do his movie and everyone is just chilling. I don't think anyone needs to worry about us, we are fine."
