Love Island's Zara has made a pretty massive impression this past week – everyone and their Nan had an opinion on that night in the hideaway with Alex which resulted in Miss GB bosses taking away her crown.

Miss GB shouldn't have sex on the telly. No ways.

Despite Zara being understandably devvo upon hearing the news, she made the decision to stick it out in the villa until the very end. Making an oath to never go near any willy ever again.

This her mother, Cheryl Hakeney, was taken ill on Saturday. Prompting Zara to get on the first flight home to the UK.

A statement from the ITV2 show read: "Owing to an illness in the family, Zara Holland has left the Love Island villa to return to the UK. Our thoughts are with her and her family and we send all of our best wishes".

Zara said upon her exit "I'm so sad to leave the villa but it's important for me to get home and spend time with my mum while she gets better. I've had the time of my life on Love Island and would like to thank all of my fellow Islanders and the production team for all their support".

And now Zara herself has tweeted for the very first time since all the drama, thanking her dedicated fans (some of 'em even started a PETITION to get her crown back).

Alongside a photo of when she found out she had been de-crowned, she wrote: "This sums up how I'm feeling, but knowing I've got incredible support makes me feel very humble. Thank u so much."

Awwwwww bless.

ITV producers. have said that they would "keep the door open" for Zara should she decide to return to the show.

Let's hope she takes them up on it, eh?
