*Love Island *fans. It is with a very heavy heart we report that Sophie Gradon may have scuppered her chance of winning the show.
Soph has been our Love Island queen ever since she made an impassioned speech in support of Zara Holland, who was stripped of her Miss GB crown after having sex in the villa.
We've also witnessed her having to deal with what looked from the outside like an emotionally manipulative relationship with Tom Powell, who lead her a merry dance of moods, moody stares and pointless, moody silences.
When Tom left we were hopeful that Sophie would have a chance to stretch her wings, and were so happy when Katie Salmon chose Sophie in last night's recoupling.
They could have won!
But now Sophie seems to have thrown that chance away.
In scenes to be broadcast tonight, the cast mates were read a series of tweets from the outside world about themselves, and Sophie was stung when she heard: "Sophie slated Terry for doing what he done to Malinyet she’s going to do the exact same."
As we have already explained, the situations are totally different.
But it got into Sophie's head and prompted her to break off her blossoming relationship with Katie.
In the beach hut, Sophie confessed: "I need to be real and I miss Tom. Every day I've missed him. It's not fair on Katie; I have immense feelings for someone else that aren't just going to go in the next week.
"She's genuinely attracted, she's made that perfectly clear and I’m just not ready for that," Sophie added, which is kind of noble but also breaks our hearts.
Sophie broke the news to Katie, and told her: "I can't go through with it Katie, Tom just means too much."
We are GUTTED.
Still, Sophie's loss could be Adam Maxted's gain. He swooped in on Katie to pick up the pieces pretty much the minute Sophie had bared her soul.
