Lucy Mecklenburgh on Louis Smith: ‘We trust each other completely’

They recently had their first romantic sunshine getaway to Majorca and things seem to be going from strength-to-strength for lovebirds Lucy Mecklenburgh and Louis Smith.

"Things are going really well," Lucy gushes to heat as we enjoy a lunchtime phone catch-up. Former TOWIE star Lucy is on her way to the airport to jet to Los Angeles where she is filming an advert.

While she’s keeping tight-lipped about who the advert is for, she does reveal that she’ll be filming in the dessert. We hope there are camels involved.

Here, the 24 year old, who’s launched a six-week programme with her fitness company Results with Lucy called Beach Body, talks about her romantic beau and renovating her house…

How are things going with Louis?

Really well. I’m really happy. I think it’s going to be three weeks from the last time I saw him to when I’ll see him next so it’s quite a long time. I’m sure we’ll FaceTime loads when I’m away.

Are you going to pop into Tiffanys and eye up some potential engagement rings while you’re in LA?

No, I’m not [laughs].

Last time you were out there you were spotted hanging out with Brody Jenner, is Louis worried you might meet an LA hunk out there?

No. We trust each other completely so he wouldn’t worry at all.

We saw the roses he sent you for your Bootycamp weekend…

Yeah, with a little note to wish me good luck, so cute.

You’ve recently bought a house and are renovating. How’s it going?

It’s got no ceilings or walls but yeah, it’s good! I’m moving in in November.

Is Louis going to move in with you?

No. He built his house in Peterborough and I’m doing mine so it works quite nicely as it is. We don’t get to see each other much but then one of us can drive to the other and we spend 2-3 days together. I like it that way. We both like our own space and I don’t know how we would fit of our stuff in one house. It’d be pretty impossible!

Tell us about Beach Body…

Last year we found that a lot of girls had left it quite late to get ready for their holiday. So we wanted to do shorter and more intense programme.

Are you happy with your body at the moment?

It’s alright. I’ve had a holiday and lots of tapas and sangria so it probably isn’t at its best.

Have you seen much of Lydia Bright and James Argent?

I saw Lydia at the BAFTAs. We snuck out second from last award and found the red wine. She seems really happy. She said Arg is a completely different person. When they went to Dubai, he organised the whole thing and I said, ‘That’s not Arg at all.’ The last time we went away with Arg he pulled up in a minibus on our way to the airport and he hadn’t even woken up or packed his suitcase yet!

Do you think it’s going to last this time?

I’ve got a really good feeling.

Have you been on a double date with them with Louis?

No, but we will soon.
