He’s come under fire from Made In Chelsea fans for his ‘controlling’ behaviour towards girlfriend Binky Felstead, but Lucy Watson says we shouldn’t be so quick to judge Josh Patterson.

“Obviously I know JP – he’s best friends with my boyfriend James,” Lucy exclusively tells heatworld. “He’s a really nice guy and would do anything for Binky.

“He’s not a nasty person – it’s a TV show. He can come across badly sometimes, but I think he just gets caught up in his words.

“In front of lots of cameras, you can end up saying things you don’t mean. Reality TV isn’t for everyone.”

Meanwhile, the former Made In Chelsea star is still loved up with boyfriend James Dunmore, and says the only bad thing about living with him is that he owns a shocking amount of clothes.

“There’s me thinking he’d be OK with a drawer or two, but he’s got an entire bedroom that sometimes overflows into the main bedroom as well,” she says. “That’s the most annoying thing.”

Wardrobe issues aside, Lucy tells heatworld things with James are going “really well”.

“I’ve been pleasantly surprised living with him,” she continues. “I always thought it would be a lot more difficult.

“But always having someone to watch your favourite program with and having your best friend around you all the time is nice.”

So can we expect an engagement any time soon?

“All my friends already know my thoughts on marriage – it’s not something that I would want to rush into,” Lucy clarifies.

“But if I put up a photo on Instagram of us together, people write: ‘You need to get married’ or ‘Your babies would be so cute’, which I think is sweet.”

And what about her former BFF Stephanie Pratt, who Lucy fell out with earlier this year after accusing her of spreading false rumours about her relationship?

“I have absolutely no hard feelings towards her,” Lucy says coolly. “We don’t speak, but there’s no bad blood from my side. It’s just that sometimes friendships end. That’s the way it is in life.”

Although fans of MIC are already gagging for her to make a dramatic return to the show, sadly it doesn’t look like that’s on Lucy’s agenda for the time being.

“Never say never,” she says. “But it’s definitely not something I’m thinking about right now.

“Everything comes to an end eventually and I felt like it was the right time for me to be moving on and doing other projects.”

And working on other projects is exactly what she’s been doing, starting with the launch of her own line of cruelty-free cosmetics, Basic Bitch.

“We started off with cruelty free, no animal testing, but moving forward we’d like to have entirely vegan and cruelty free products,” she tells us.
