Lucy Watson and Marnie lock horns over body-shaming

Let's stop this now

Here at heat, we find it really hard to write about celebrities shaming each other's beautiful bodies. Attacking one another for being "too fat" or "too thin" - it's sad and it shouldn't happen. Period.

Earlier this week, Geordie Shore's Marnie Simpson and ex Big Brother contestant Jasmine Lennard had a pretty intense Twitter war over Jasmine's boyfriend Christian MJC.

For what it's worth, it was one of the most immature and silly Twitter spats we've ever seen - but the insults that came out of it were truly horrendous. Jasmine even told Marnie (who is TINY) to "go eat some salad, fat ass".

A statement that prompted Marnie to then post a stunning naked selfie – something that got her a LOAD of praise from fans.

Jasmine even got in contact with heat to say, literally: "Marnie started it," and body-shamed her first by telling her to "go eat a hamburger".

Ridic.

However, we were shocked by what happened afterwards. Taking to her magazine column to talk anything and everything, Marnie turned her attention to the ladies of Made In Chelsea– Lucy Watson in particular.

"I tweeted when I was p**sed that I was jealous of the MIC girls' thin bodies, but actually I don't think I'd like to be that skinny.

"Lucy Watson looks like a skeleton."

This, of course, got the attention of Lucy Watson, who took to Twitter to retaliate: "@MarnieGShore yeah you look great! Shame you then had to go and insult my body to make yourself feel better."

Thankfully, Marnie realised (we hope) that she was in the wrong and replied to Lucy.

"It was a opinion, you are thin, not in a nasty way. Always said your beautiful. But if u wana be nasty I can too!

"So …me having a column could be slightly dangerous I really don't think before I speak and I NEVER think I'm in the wrong. Bad combo."

We think all this just reiterates the saying 'if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.'

Stop making each others bodies the focus, c'mon.
