It is a truth universally acknowledged that nothing brings two girls closer together than mutual dislike. A common enemy, and it's usually in the form of an ex.
This probably explains Marnie Simpson's sudden adoration for another of Lewis Bloor's exes, Nicole Bass.
Marnie Simpson took to Instagram yesterday to share a picture looking pretty pally with Nicole – who dated Lewis back in back in 2015 and went through a messy break-up on TOWIE – while at a bar.
The snap was captioned: "Love this girl so much. @nicolecharbass," complete with about a million pink heart emojis.
Yep. Marns has pretty much pulled a Kylie Jenner (who famously shared a selfie with Tyga's ex Blac Chyna) except in this case both ladies are well rid of Lew.
To make this declaration of love and web of exes that bit more odd and complicated, Marnie and Nicole also share another ex in common in the tattooed and muscly form of Aaron Chalmers.
We're guessing the girls had a lot of stories to swap.
Marnie recently admitted that she never wants to speak to Lewis again after it was revealed that he had cheated on her on Valentine's Day.
Speaking in her Star magazine column, the Geordie Shore star fumed: "I’m in shock and feel numb.
"It’s the worst betrayal and I can’t even describe how I feel. I only found out when I was sent the article and it made me feel physically sick.
"When I tried to speak to Lewis he was just silent on the phone.
"He doesn’t know how to be truthful and will continue to lie until the day he dies."
