A short while ago, in a time before horrid 2016, there lived a lovely, pleasant baking show full of cakes, lion bread and happiness.
But this year has just been controversy, dick breads and sadness.
We did quite like the dick bread, actually.
In a nutshell, it was announced the show was moving to Channel 4, Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins said they were leaving, and Mary Berry followed suit.
DAVINA MCCALL WAS EVEN A RUMOURED NEW HOST.
It was an absolute catastrophe, basically.
One thing that will stay the same, though, is that TRAITOR Hollywood (formerly known as Paul Hollywood) would be "going with the dough" as Mel and Sue would say.
And now Mary has broken her silence on the terrible ordeal, even being quite nice about THE TRAITOR.
"It’s going to be different but I’m sure Paul will carry it on successfully," she said.
"Mel and Sue are brilliant and we had a marvellous time on the programme and that’s how it will remain," she added to The Sun.
"You’ll never hear people swear. It’s a family programme. Mum, gran, everyone enjoys it and they all get down to baking afterwards. I’m proud of everyone. It gets 14 million – more than the football!"
Davina would tell them not to swear, don't worry Mary.
In other news, Nadiya Hussain said she'd be DOWN TO JUDGE THE NEW SHOW.
She's no Davina, but we APPROVE.
She told Absolute Radio’s Christian O’Connell she'd do it if Mary and THE TRAITOR were contestants.
"We’d have to end the show with two winners and just let them have it," she said.
We don't think THE TRAITOR would ever be down for that.
