The grass is green, *Desperate Scousewives *was criminally underrated and Geordie Shore is a reality show that is actually based on the cast's real life – these are facts.

OR ARE THEY?

Chantelle Connelly has poured cold water on the last one by claiming that the cast are given storylines.

What even is this? Chantelle? What even is this?

Chantelle made the claim on her Instagram account after posting a motivational quote that we're pretty sure she made up herself.

"All lads wana do is make sure your not cheating on him while he's cheating on you and accuse you of cheating on him cause he cheating on you," she wrote.

Accompanied, inexplicably, by a nail painting emoji.

A fan was quick to pick up on Chantelle's supposed hypocrisy, saying: "u cheated on your ex bf when u filmed gs this summer tho... with gaz."

But Chantelle was quick to blast back, saying: "Think you need to get your facts right ! My bf new I had to have a story line with Gary was totally honest with him and he was ok with it !!!"

Wow. A storyline.

While it's pretty obvious with e.g. TOWIE that the cast have to have a storyline – ideally a beef or a tumultuous romance – to stay in the show, we thought that Geordie Shore was purer of heart. How else to explain James Tindale clinging on by his tanned fingertips for so long?

Coming up in Geordie Shore series 13: Chantelle storms out in a blaze of glory after a series of rows with Marty McKenna and Chloe Ferry.

She also says that Gary Beadle stopped talking to her after she called time on their showmance.

Have you seen the trailer for series 13? It's a bit of a corker.

We contacted MTV who preferred not to comment. Make of that what you will.
