At the premiere for HBO's Project Greenlight in LA earlier this week, Matt Damon stepped in for his shy best pal Ben Affleck when asked about how he was doing since his split with Jennifer Garner.
Newly single Ben – who turned up to the event with his wedding ring back on – didn’t do a single interview with the press, and quickly headed in after the obligatory autograph signing and posing for photographs.

His old friend Matt however stepped up to answer the curious questions over the stars’ wellbeing, and he insisted:
“He's great. He's great,” reported Yahoo.
"He's got a big smile on his face," he went on.
Ben and Jen split a couple of months ago after being married for 10 years, and having three children together, though the couple seem to have maintained an amicable relationship, as they’ve been seen both holidaying together and living together since the break-up.
Luckily for Ben, he’s got his old bestie Matt to rely on through the bad times, who he’s been friends with since childhood.
They both rose to fame together after winning an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Screenplay for Good Will Hunting in 1997, which they wrote and starred in together.
And they’ve continued to work together throughout their careers, most recently both as executive producers for Project Greenlight.
Talk about a bromance!
