TOWIE's Gemma Collins has made no secret of her desire to start a family of her own, and in last night's episode of The Only Way Is Essex, we saw her visit a fertility clinic as part of her mission to have a baby in the next couple of years.

While Gemma was told her uterus is fine, she received some bad news about her ovaries and was told she has a low ovarian reserve, with the doctor explaining: "That means that the number of eggs in your ovaries has come down significantly, it is not a very good result."

The doctor also said that in order for things to improve Gemma needs to bring her BMI down, to which Gemma replied: "I'm on it."

And now Gemma has revealed that she suffered a miscarriage in the past, and blames herself for being unable to conceive.

Pouring her heart out on Loose Women, Gemma confessed: "People look at us on TOWIE and think we all have this flashy lifestyle but no amount of money is going to give me a baby.

"I do start to think, 'Is it something I've done? Have I had the morning-after pill too many times?

"I did have a miscarriage, and I know I need to bring my weight down."

Staying positive, Gemma then revealed that she hasn't ruled out adoption and her friend has even offered to be her surrogate.

"I have a lot of love to give and I think I'd be a good mum to a child.

"I saw my friend after the fertility meeting, and broke down, and she said, 'I love you dearly, I'd give you one of my eggs'.

"I would consider adoption, I'd never rule it out. There's so much availability out there and so many people who can help you

"There are options out there for me. I will have a child one day but I don't know how yet."
