And you thought award season was over?

Taylor Swift has nabbed herself FOUR nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards.

The Shake It Off singer has nominations in the main categories for the likes of Best Female Video and Best Pop Video, meanwhile her collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on Bad Blood is up for Video of the Year and Best Collaboration.

Kendrick himself is mentioned in a whopping NINE categories overall, including Best Male Video and Best Hip Hop Video. He even appears twice in some categories thanks to Bad Blood's multiple nominations.

The nominations have led to a bit of a Twitter row, with Nicki Minaj criticising the awards by saying: "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year"

Taylor Swift invited Nicki up on stage with her, if she wins and, told the Anaconda singer: "I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.."

We never realised people cared about the VMAs so much! Miley Cyrus is set to host the awards on 30th August, so expect twerking, tongue wagging and no sight of Robin Thicke whatsoever, as people hate him now.
