After keeping silent for the whole of yesterday, Nathan finally took to Twitter to speak out about the news – but failed to mention Cara.

"Yes it's true..I'm going to be a Dad. Its an emotional time for me and I'm overwhelmed by all the support from both my family and friends," he posted.

Cara broke the news of her pregnancy to OK! Magazine and said:

"It’s a shame and a sad situation. I know a lot of people will think, well you’re going to have a baby together so just stay together – but we’re not going to do that just to look like the perfect couple.

"Me and Nathan would always speak about kids, we said maybe when we’re 30, but sometimes life doesn’t go to plan."

Cara then revealed that she found out she was pregnant just three days after her 19-year-old cousin passed away following a battle with cancer: "We found out I was pregnant three days after my 19-year-old cousin passed away from cancer.

"I’m not superstitious, but my family and I are looking at it like we’ve been given a new life after one was taken away.

"I know it sounds cliche but I believe things like this are meant to be."

The pair reportedly have no plans to get back together and Nathan has yet to speak out about the news.

Cara's Love Island bestie Olivia Buckland posted the cutest tribute to her 'two best friends' on Instagram.

She wrote: "When you can finally celebrate & talk about your best friends news. This lady right here is one of the strongest souls I have ever met. I'm so proud of you. @cara_delahoyde"

Congratulations guys!
