Remember that loud smashing noise we all heard Sunday night? At first we thought it was thunder, or just Mrs Peterson doing her Jane Fonda workout DVD upstairs.
But once we jumped on Twitter and saw the news that One Direction were taking a break next year, we realised it was actually the sound of millions of teenagers’ hearts breaking into a thousand pieces.
A little part of us prayed it wasn’t really happening, and it was all just a big misunderstanding.
Well… it turns out it wasn’t.
After millions of 1D fans started losing the plot and panicking that instead of just going on a break the boys were actually splitting; ruining their lives forever, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson have now taken to Twitter to straighten things out.
The Sun reports over the weekend suggested that One Direction would be breaking up "for at least a year" rather than touring their fifth studio record, with the door left open for a reunion.
