Ever since she popped up on Made In Chelsea and proved herself the absolute queen of shutting down the haterz, we’ve been bloody terrified of one day getting on the wrong side of Lucy Watson.

But this became a reality for one of her Instagram followers after they made the mistake of trying to body shame her.

In the weird age of social media, it appears literally no one is safe from unnecessary scrutiny (no one with 1.3m followers, anyway). Post an innocent pic of you playing croquet (how the other half live, eh?) and it’s pretty much guaranteed someone will take the time out of their day to be negative.

When Lucy uploaded a pic of her at the Pimm’s Cider Cup croquet lawn (which sounds like literally the poshest place ever), someone suggested in the comments that she had an eating disorder.

Never one to take things lying down, Lucy retorted the following:

“Who are YOU to say I have an eating disorder? Do you think it's okay to publicly declare that someone else has an eating problem like its the ONLY possible way for me to be slim? Not that I maybe work out and eat a vegan diet.... But that because I am slim I MUST have an eating disorder. Do you really think that it is okay to try and make people think that? What lifestyle are you validating? Just because you've watched me on tv, does NOT mean you know the ins and outs of my life.”

Many of her followers waded in to defend her, saying things like “PREACH!!!! Don’t ever let the haters get you down xx” and “you tell her girl”.

Lucy is no stranger to this kind of body shaming. When Marnie Simpson called her a “skeleton” last month, she tweeted: @MarnieGShore yeah you look great! Shame you had to go and insult my body to make yourself feel better.” Marnie then replied: 'It was a opinion, you are thin, not in a nasty way. Always said your (sic) beautiful. But if u wana be nasty I can too!'

Err… Why don’t we all just stop examining each other’s bodies and have a cup of tea?
