Poor old Julianne Moore, despite having an Oscar some people think she really can’t act.

Who are those people you say? Well, it turns out its some staff of the Turkish tourist board who were not impressed with Julianne’s acting style.

The Still Alice actress (that’s the role she won her Oscar for, BTW) has reportedly been cut from an advert for the country’s tourist board because she was “depressive”.

Apparently, the advert featured Julianne taking a flight while dreaming of trip to Turkey when she was a child. Nothing like a bit of nostalgia, eh? However, when officials saw the film they allegedly demanded a re-shoot and Julianne is said to have refused. So, the whole thing got scrapped.

Although there’s been no official statement, Ruhsar Demirel, of the Nationalist Movement party, asked minister Ayşenur İslam: “How reasonable do you find promoting Turkey with the body of such names and women? How do you find, as a woman, giving plenty of money to a Hollywood star to promote Turkey, as if it were the 19th century?”

Oh dear.

At least Julianne’s probably too busy to be bothered in the slightest. She’s got her film Seventh Son out now and is set to star in new production, Freeheld, with Ellen Page.
