A bit late to the party, hun.

This Saturday, women around the world came together in protest against Donald Trump after he was sworn in as President of the United States on Friday.

Marches took place across the globe, from Washington D.C. to Helsinki and everywhere in between and saw hundreds of thousands of women in solidarity against Donald Trump and his frankly anti-feminist outlook.

As well as a load of poignant and bloody hilarious sings (see below lolol) a number of influential figures also took to Twitter to share their support of march.

Women's march

However, one person's tweet seemed to rub a LOT of people up the wrong way. And we don't really blame them TBH.

Taylor Swift wrote: "So much love, pride, and respect for those who marched. I'm proud to be a woman today, and every day. #WomensMarch."

Seems all well and good, right? Taylor just doing her thaaang and supporting women around the world.

Well, apparently not.

A few people were quick to point out TayTay and been noticeably silent during the presidential campaign, failing to condemn Trump or divulge her political affiliation (which is totes fair enough if you don't then claim to be a leading figure in the feminist movement, if ya know what we're sayin'?).

One person wrote: "This is gross opportunism. Be better."

Another added: "could not agree more, jumping on the bandwagon to get a mention but not actually brace enough to participate [sic]"

Even some of Taylor's fans were a bit pissed off with her: "As a fan of yours, this is some bullshit. You do not get to pick and choose when feminism benefits you."

Taylor Swift tweet

Fairs.

Other fans have been quick to jump to Taylor's defence, commenting that just because she did't attend the march does not mean she didn't idedntify as a feminist. Kinda understandable.

One wrote: "@taylorswift13 I LOVE YOU THANK YOU FOR SAYING SOMETHING TODAY THANK YOU."

And another added: "People are attacking @taylorswift13 for not being at the #WomensMarch but I wasn't there either but still consider myself a feminist."

Taylor Swift women's march

Also fairs.
