Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, who played love interests Jon Snow and Ygritte in the hit TV show, first got together in 2012, but it wasn't until last year that they appeared in public for the first time.

Speaking to L'Uomo Vogue last year Kit said that it was "easy" to fall in love, his best ever memory was when they were filming the second season of the show in Iceland. Kit went on to say, "Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love.

"If you're already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love."

Many fans were expecting the pair would get engaged soon after they moved into a £1.75 million mansion in East Anglia earlier this year.

Speaking to a national newspaper a source said: "They’re yet to set a date, but told friends and family last week that they’ve got engaged.

"Kit’s known for ages he’s wanted to marry Rose but he wanted them to get a house and settle down a bit first.

"Kit, who plays Jon Snow, has now become one of the show's biggest stars appearing in all seven series of Game of Thrones. Meanwhile Rose played his love interest Ygritte and left the series in 2015. She now stars in the US TV series The Good Fight.

Earlier this month Kit was joined by former Spice Girl Geri Horner at the Italian Formula One Grand Prix in Monza, where he gave her an acting lesson on one of the most famous lines from the show which Ygritte uttered to him as she lay dying in Jon Snow's arms.

This clip was immediately a hit with fans who responded on social media saying 'OMG! @GeriHalliwell & Kit Harrington together!!!! I am falling here' and 'I don't know what I'm more jealous of: the fact that you met Kit or that Kit met you. All I know is that this is perfection.'

Series seven of Game of Thrones finished recently leaving viewers with a cliff hanger before the final series. Although it is hoped the final series will be released next year, show creators have said they are unsure if it will be finished in time, so we might have to wait until 2019.
