Rihanna opens up in heartfelt interview about how she tried to ‘change’ ex Chris Brown

Rihanna has graced yet another magazine cover and this time she has a D&M (deep and meaningful) during the interview.

"Bad Gal Ri-Ri" appears on the cover of Vanity Fair, offering a heartfelt interview in which she has opened up about her tumultuous relationship with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

The couple appeared to be the epitome of the perfect couple at the time; They were loved-up, both with booming music career, until Chris assaulted Rihanna before the Grammys in 2009.

At the time, the Bitch Better Have My Money singer took Chris back and revealed it was because she tried to “change” him.

"I was very protective of him. I felt that people didn’t understand him. Even after…but you know, you realise after a while that in that situation you’re the enemy,” she revealed.

"You want the best for them, but if you remind them of their failures, or if you remind them of bad moments in their life, or even if you say I’m willing to put up with something, they think less of you - because they know you don’t deserve what they’re going to give.

"And if you put up with it, maybe you are agreeing that you [deserve] this, and that’s when I finally had to say, ‘Uh-oh, I was stupid thinking I was built for this.’ Sometimes you just have to walk away."

Rihanna, who is rumoured to be dating rapper Travis Scott, also revealed that now she and her former flame “don't have much of a relationship”.

Recently an insider spoke to The Sun about Ri-Ri and Travis’ relationship, saying: "Her friends think this is already her most committed relationship since Chris Brown."
