Here at heat, we’ve long been fans of all of Russell Tovey’s body parts (and his mind/personality, of course). But, for one theatre goer, Russ’ lovely chest was just too much because – and we promise you this is true – it made the fan properly faint.

Russell (who you’ll recognise from Being Human and Looking) is currently wowing audiences as Rodolpho in A View From The Bridge at New York’s Lyceum Theatre. During one scene, the

34 year old appears topless, and last week, as the Brit actor stripped off, an audience member promptly passed out. The production was halted while three doctors watching the play helped the fainter – later revealed to be Pennsylvanian Davin Cutchall, who’d driven a whole six hours to see the show – before he was taken to hospital.

We couldn’t imagine what Russell was thinking… so we gave him a call to ask. He told us, “On behalf of my arms and nipples, I feel the need to publicly apologise for the effects felt by one of our audience members on a dark winter night in New York City.”
