Sam Bailey said she was pleased to have been dropped from Simon Cowell’s record label as she’s now free to do her own thing.

But the former X Factor champ has a really sweet parting message for the music mogul to prove she doesn’t feel bitter.

The ex prison warden said she only auditioned for the show in 2013 because she thought winning would give her the cash to improve her home – and she has.

She told the Daily Star Sunday: “There’s no hard feelings with my label – they paid for my house extension and looked after me for the year we were together.”

The star has admitted that if she was still with Syco she probably would have recorded another album of cover songs.

But since leaving she’s already been in the US meeting with some big record industry names.

She recently told the Sunday Mirror: “I’ve had some meetings with music producers and companies while I’ve been out [in The States]. I’d love to crack America, I want people to hear me sing out here.”
