Scotty T came under heavy criticism after an 'insensitive' tweet was sent out from his account in the aftermath the horrific events in Manchester last night.
Following the news of the terror attack at Ariana Grande's concert at the Manchester Arena – which killed 22 people and injured 59 – a tweet appeared on Scotty T's timeline saying: "Thoughts going out to all the victims and their familys [sic] in Manchester right now and you @ArianaGrande #FancyACuddle."
Scotty then received a torrent of backlash from tolls branding the tweet 'insensitive'. Some even lashed out at the Geordie Shore star, tweeting abuse.
Scotty has since issued a statement apologising for the tweet and explaining his Twitter account had been hacked.
He wrote: ""Hi apologies to anyone offended last night. My Twitter was hacked.
"Anyone who follows me knows I would not tweet anything so disgusting."
He also responded to tweets criticising him, adding: "Obviously not my tweet @jasoncundy05 my account was hacked. As soon as my team found out they where on to Twitter to regain access & delete."
Scotty T also revealed he's currently working with Twitter to find out who had access to his Twitter account and where the tweet was sent from.
However, some followers have expressed doubts as to whether Scotty was hacked in the first place.
Ariana Grande spoke out on Twitter in the early hours of this morning, revealing she was 'broken' by the events of last night.
Other musicians around the world have taken to social media to pay tribute to victims of the attack.
