Game Of Thrones obsessives listen up, because we have some VERY GOOD NEWS for y'all.
Ahead of the penultimate series of George R.R. Martin’s uh-mazing and oh-so addictive fantasy series – that will be on our screens in 2018 – HBO have apparently started developing not one, but FOUR spin-off shows that will keep our obsession satisfied for many more years to come.
YASSSSSS.
Variety are reporting that George is working with four sets of writers to develop shows each set in different Westeros time periods.
But don't get too excited as we might have to wait a while for more developments as a spokesperson for HBO confirmed: "There is no set timetable for these projects."
They added: "We’ll take as much or as little time as the writers need and, as with all our development, we will evaluate what we have when the scripts are in."
And there is also no guarantee that ALL FOUR of the spin-off shows will eventually make it to the air, especially as HBO programming resident Casey Bloys preferred the idea of a 'prequel' than spin-off series.
Back in January, Casey said: "It’s a big enough property that we would be foolish not to explore it. It’s a really rich world. We’d be foolish not to look at it.
"A prequel feels like it has less pressure on it than a spin-off… George R. R. Martin’s history of Westeros gives you area in which to say to a writer, ‘If you were going to do this, then go flesh it out,’ and we’ll see what comes back.
"But I don’t feel any pressure that we have to have something."
