There's been a lot of tension in the air this summer and we're not talking about Brexit negotiations (or Katie Price's latest divorce). Nope, we're talking about the battle between to reality TV giants for the title of the most talked about show of the year.

Celebrity Big Brother and Love Island have been competing for our affection after the latter took us all by surprise and essentially took over our lives back in June. CBB then upped their game, and we've basically fallen into a reality TV vortex and have absolutely no idea what to do with ourselves now both shows are over.

But while we love and adore both shows equally (kinda), there's been some healthy competition and a side-helping of shade throwing between the series. Even CBB presenter Emma Willis got involved.

Now two of the best-loved stars from each show have been at it on Twitter.

Earlier this month Love Island winner, Kem Cetinay, took to social media to drag CBB star Sam Thompson and Jordan Davies' blossoming friendship, playfully hinting they were copying his own bromance with fellow Islander Chris Hughes.

He wrote: "How is there boys painting there nails and making raps on CBB that's so last month @chrishughes_22 (sic)."

And after finally being allowed back on his phone after nearly a month cooped up in the Big Brother house, Sam clearly had a bit of scrolling sesh on social media and replied to Kem's tweet.

He said: "Forgot that people weren't allowed to be mates after Chris and kem . Didn’t watch love island but heard nice things."

AWKS.

Sam them sent for Kem in series of tweets.

This prompted Kem's bezzie mate Chris to get involved, calling out Sam for appearing to criticise Kem and Amber Davies Good Morning Britian presenting job.

He wrote: "Muggy thing to tweet. No need to put anyone down for exploring, everyone alive starts somewhere."

While Kem appeared to delete his replies to Sam after the CBB star claimed he was actually being 'nice'.

Kem then responded again saying it was all 'playful banter', but Sam didn't seem to be in the bantering mood.

He later said: "We've never, and I wasn't aware we were having banter but I'm sure you're a good man, and hopefully you smash your career."

GUYS. Can’t we all just get along?
