Earlier in May 2016, Selena Gomez and Orlando Bloom were pictured cuddling up to each other in a VIP booth while security guards tried to hide what was actually going on.
But not before some fairly incriminating, if blurry, photos emerged of the pair in what can only be described as a clinch.
But wait, isnt Orlando going out with Katy Perry? Yep, and the pair are on a nice break right now in Cannes while Selena continues her tour. Katy believes that Orlando and Selena are mates, but the rumour mill is obsessed with the concept of them dating.
To be fair, they do look nice together and yes, these two have history. History that we will now lay out in full to allow you to be the final judge.
They share a manager
Orlando and Selena share a manager, which is probably how they met in the first place. They were first publicly seen meeting at We Day California in March 2014, an annual conference thats inspire young people to get involved and effect change in their communities and beyond.
Fancy.
Orlando was indeed single, having separated from his wife Mirana Kerr, but Selena was - according to all reports - getting back with Justin Bieber. So far, so totally fine, right?
They go to see some comedy
A month later, they go in a group to see some stand-up comedy and a source says "they are not dating". Nobody listens to this source, and presumes they are dating.
Orlando punches Justin
Sort of self-explanatory really. Orlando Bloom punched Selena's ex in a bar. There's a video of it. Nobody knows why, but a source said: "Bieber said something rude to Orlando, like, 'She was good'".
Not about Selena, apparently, but about Miranda Kerr; Justin, at the peak of his bucket-peeing, house-egging, sizzurp-slurping worst, had chatted with Orlando's ex backstage at the 2012 Victoria's Secret party and sparked rumours that they were 'getting close'.
Nobody really stopped to think how mad this was, considering Justin Bieber was, as discussed, at the peak of his bucket-peeing, house-egging, sizzurp-slurping worst and that Miranda Kerr had been very classy and mature about the separation. Snogging Justin Bieber at an after-party seems a little out of character.
Still, this didn't help the Orlando-Selena story as people speculated as to whether any of it had been due to Justin's jealousy over Orlena's relationship. 'Orlena' isn't a thing, we just got bored of writing Orlando and Selena all the time.
Everyone attends a party and doesn't punch each other
Orlando had already flat-out denied questions of a relationship (when asked if he was dating Selena, he said 'no man') and Selena had done the same, citing the 'just friends' motto over and over to no avail. Despite all the chat, Selena, Orlando and Miranda Kerr all attended the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar's party without any problems.
Justin Bieber wasn't there, though.

For the rest of 2015, Orlando looked to be dating actress Luisa Moraes and Selena had enjoyed 'a thing' (her words) with Zedd, as well as hanging out with Justin. She was spotted on a segway with him. She was also spotted going to Orlando's house later that day with some friends, which was met with much confusion. Why both? Wouldn't this cause heartbreak?
Yes it would. If any of the above were dating. Notice the 'if' in this sentence.

Sitting next to him/posting an Instagram saying happy birthday is the same as having sex with him, presumably. So that means they're all having sex? We're confused. Either way, people raised their eyebrows.

They're spotted at the Golden Globes after-party and then by March 2016 are confirmed as a couple. But wait! Remember when Taylor Swift's Bad Blood came out and it was rumoured to be about Katy, and Selena is, like, Taylor's BFF? Well apparently it's all cool, because Selena has been friendly with Katy through it all. And they remain friends. Which they probably wouldn't be if Selena and Orlando were secretly kissing all over the place. Right?

Again, if Selena was snogging Orlando everywhere, would she be this chummy with his ex-wife and mother of his child? Well, everything's possible but it's not PROBABLE, is it?

So while Orlando and Katy are being cute and couple-y at various events, and Selena is hanging out with his ex - and with pretty much no evidence pointing towards the fact that they're anything other than friends - do the pictures look like two people snogging? Or a friend hugging another friend because she's really drunk and tired?
We're leaning towards that second one...
