Call us controversial, but we're yet to be convinced Made in Chelsea will ever be as good without Spencer Matthews.

He was a bit of a dicklord love rat, but you can't deny he was bloody good tele.

And he may have only been in last year's I'm A Celebrity for about forty minutes, but he was still GREAT.

But it appears we may imminently be forever bidding farewell to Spencer on our screens, as he's reportedly been banned from further reality TV appearances.

This is apparently because of his brother James Matthews' upcoming nuptials to actual Pippa Middleton, meaning that Spencer would basically be royal (kind of), and would probably need to refrain from cheating on people on national television.

His ex-girlfriend and former co-star Stephanie Pratt said: "I feel like he can’t [return to Made in Chelsea] because he can’t be in the public eye right now – his family are under immense scrutiny."

A Channel 4 spokesperson added to Digital Spy: "He’s restricted – I don’t know whether he is for our show or not because we haven’t had the discussion. But he is restricted [with what he can do on TV]."

This sad news comes after Spencer had reportedly expressed hope that he'd return to I'm A Celebrity after last year's 'mare.

Back in July (before the royal engagement), he said: "I'd love a second crack at the jungle. My only three days in there were amazingly fun."

Speaking to Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan on ITV's Good Morning Britain, he opened up about his steroid use – which was the cause of him being ejected from the show the first time round.

He said that he had turned his attention "to trying to help others" not to use the drug. Spencer explained that he had started using the drug in preparation for a charity boxing fight.
