Olly Murs is reportedly planning to sign up as a judge on The Voice and has annoyed his former X Factor mentor Simon Cowell in the process.

The pop star is said to be joining the ITV singing contest alongside Tom Jones, Will.i.am, and Jennifer Hudson, replacing Gavin Rosedale.

And Olly, who previously presented The X Factor alongside Caroline Flack, is said to have got on the wrong side of show boss Simon with his plans.

A source told The Sun: “It’s a huge coup for The Voice to have Olly on board.

“He’s got talent show experience, comedic charm and a huge fanbase. His personality will shine through as a coach.

“It won’t be like when he presented X Factor when he had to remain impartial.”

Olly left The X Factor in 2015 amid claims he wanted to concentrate more on his music, so Simon may be a little surprised he’s considered a job on The Voice.

He would replace former judge Gavin who was given the axe from the show earlier this year.
