Last week, Geordie Shore unveiled a bizarre advert for its 14th series which featured a pregnant Gary Beadle.

It was all very odd and extremely unsettling.

You can watch the advert below.

But many people were more than unsettled by the ad, and criticised it for being insensitive toward Charlotte Crosby, who revealed to heat that she had suffered an ectopic pregnancy with Gary's baby last year.

"[The doctor] put me in a wheelchair and I collapsed out of it. I was fitting on the floor and it was just so scary," she told us.

"I didn't know what the hell was going on and I was in so much pain. Then the X-ray showed how much damage had been caused. Because I'd left it a week, it'd torn open my fallopian tube and I was bleeding internally. He said: 'If you'd have left it any longer, you could have died.'"

And fans took to social media to voice their disgust at the advert.

One fan wrote: "Bit insensitive Gaz!!"

Others added: "Wow! I feel sorry for Charlotte! This is so bad."

"So strange they went with Gary giving birth for the new trailer after what happened with him and Charlotte and their pregnancy loss bit insensitive I think [sic]"

"Ugh, such poor taste... poor Charlotte."

A spokesperson for MTV responded to the criticism, revealing to Mail Online that the advert 'bears no significance or connection to any of the cast’s private lives'.

They said: "MTV is well known for its entertaining and creative promotions around its programming. The promo for the upcoming series of Geordie Shore is designed to introduce our audience to some of the show’s new characters. It bears no significance or connection to any of the cast’s private lives."

And Marnie Simpson has used her Star magazine column to apologise for the advert, writing: "We certainly weren't out to hurt Charlotte.

"But now I look at it, I can see how it's insensitive and I feel bad."

"Sorry Char."
