Stephanie Davis contemplated not having her baby when she first found out she was pregnant, because she didn't want to bring it into such a "toxic" environment, she's admitted.
Opening up on today's Loose Women, Steph explained how she reached rock bottom when she learned she was pregnant, just a week after she split from on-off ex Jeremy McConnell.
"I'm not going to lie, at one point I completely broke down – that was the night before I went to therapy – I was on my hands and knees and couldn't take any more," she said.
"I thought Jeremy was going to be the one to save me. I thought, 'this isn't right to bring a baby into this toxic environment'."
But Steph, who says she is now nearly 14 weeks pregnant, soon came to terms with the news, and is now "over the moon" with her unborn child.
However, she says the backlash from the media and Twitter trolls has made a stressful situation even worse – and she blamed Jeremy for contributing to her traumatic time.
"It gets me a bit emotional because I was going through everything with Jeremy then I had the press printing everything, and these disgusting trolls saying stuff like 'I hope you lose the baby'," she said, getting tearful in front of the cameras.
"Jeremy was posting things online. I was getting bullied for not posting anything online. With all the stress going on, I just wanted to get to the 12-week safety mark."
Steph also showed off her scan picture, prompting the audience to vote on whether it was a boy or a girl using nub theory.
(It was split 50/50, BTW).
Steph revealed that a psychic told her it would be a boy, so she's looking forward to knowing the sex.
When the panel read out a statement from Jeremy explaining why he hadn't been involved in Steph's pregnancy – he brought up the video footage of her in bed with Love Island's Joshua Ritchie – Stephanie replied that it was the first she's heard from Jezza for months.
"I think it's very predictable of him, though it's nice that he's actually acknowledging there's a baby there," she said.
"I actually feel sorry for him now. Jeremy can't face the truth."
She added: "I did love him, I think it's actually gone the other way now. I'm so glad I've seen the man he is – it was a lucky escape."
