We shed a little tear when we heard Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris had split after 15 months of dating.
And now we’ve shed a few more after learning Taylor was so heartbroken over the direction their relationship was heading, she felt she had to walk away.
It was thought Scottish DJ Calvin was the one who ended their romance but it seems Taylor left her man because he wasn’t ready to get married.
“Taylor ended things as she could feel their relationship wasn’t heading in the right direction,” a source told The Sun.
“She discovered they were on different paths in the last few weeks. It wasn’t that they weren’t happy, but when she raised the subject of their future it became clear they do not want the same thing at the same time.
“Taylor is heartbroken. But it could have been a lot worse if they were in this position in another 15 months.
“She always saw herself as a young mum. It’s not that she’s in a rush to settle down or anything. But she also doesn’t want to waste time either.”
Calvin and Taylor met at a BRIT Awards afterparty last year where they were introduced by mutual pal Ellie Goulding.
And while he loved being in a relationship with Taylor, he wasn’t ready to live with her just yet.
“He was reluctant to make a complete commitment when his life is so crazy,” the source continued.
“He absolutely adored their time together, but being a devoted boyfriend is difficult to fit in with being the biggest DJ on the planet.
“He also loved having his own home in LA and didn’t want to move in full time together. He loved his own space.”
Meanwhile, it seems the pair will remain friends after Calvin spoke out on Twitter to put to rest any rumours they had ended badly.
He wrote: “The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect.”
