“It was an amicable split,” according to People, and there have been reports that they were on the rocks for a while now.
The most recent of these was that Taylor believed Tom was with her for publicity after he invited her to the Emmys, and the distance between the pair was also said to be a strain.
The split was said to be because it all got too public for Taylor, who wasn’t interested in being part of a “power couple”.
"Tom’s a great guy but there’s no room for him in her life.
"She doesn’t want a serious relationship and that’s where it was heading… It was all far too public, in the end,” a source told The Sun.
"Tom freaked her out with his love of the limelight.
The source continued: "Taylor is so focused on her career it’s unreal… She is in control of her life, that’s a fact.
"She is the driving force in what she does and where she goes, and she certainly won’t let a boyfriend interfere with that."
