*The Only Way Is Essex *returns very soon, and it seems that Chris is attempting to keep his new relationship strong by avoiding the TOWIE curse.

BTW- the TOWIE curse is basically when every relationship in the show goes to shit. Remember Mark Wright and Lauren Goodger? Lucy Mecklenburgh and Mario Falcone? Kirk Norcross and Lauren Pope?

Nah, we can't either.

We do remember Lydia bright and James Argent though - and boy have they been through it over the last six years on the show. But it seems that enough was enough, and Lydia called it quits FOR GOOD in May.

However, it seems that some couples have managed to beat the odds and stay solid. We've got Tommy Mallet and Georgia Kousoulou, Danielle Armstrong and James 'Lockie' Lock (who only recently reunited), and ermm, yeah, that's about it.

We've got our fingers crossed for Megan McKenna and Pete Wicks though. And it looks like Chris is taking a leaf out of these couples' books as he is determined for his relationship to remain strong with his girlfriend Amber Dowding.

The reality star confirmed that he has been seeing her since March, revealing: "We’ve spoken about avoiding the 'TOWIE curse' and said the main thing we need to do is communicate.

"If we talk to each other and are open about things then nothing can catch us off guard.

"Trust and communication is key.

"If you don't have either of those, you'll fail both in TOWIE and in life."

We agree. Trust and communication is key (and staying faithful, obviously).

In the last series, Chris and Courtney Green attempted to date but it didn't work out and Chris confessed that the failure was, "probably a blessing in disguise.

"It was quite awkward when Jon and I refused to clean Chloe and Courtney's windows."

We remember, we were cringing.
