This year we’ve had to watch as some of our absolute FAVE couples tested our belief in true love. There was the Jay and Bey saga after the release of Lemonade; Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s very public break-up caused a seriously messy media storm, and now Hiddleswift is happening and Taylor Swift is pretty much all, ‘Calvin who?’
Our only hope spiked when telly favourites, Lydia Rose Bright and James Argent, reunited recently after yet another split in May.
But don’t YAY too soon. Although they were papped together on a lush Spanish beach, not even the Majorca sun could warm up their VERY frosty encounter. It seems the exes were forced into their first emosh reunion since their split in order to film scenes for The Only Way Is Essex.
Yikes.
They’ve been on and off, and then on and off again more than Steph Davis and Jez McConnell, but where the latter squeezed a lifetime of breakups into a couple of months, the TOWIE twosome spread their tumultuous relationship out over a whopping six years.
Things finally came to an end two months ago, with Lydia reportedly “cutting all contact” with the wannabe Sinatra impersonator (anyone else remember that that was a thing?), and promising that this time it was over for reals.
BOO.
While Lyds has been enjoying the single life, James shipped himself off to boot camp to clean up his act and shed three stone in the process to try and win back the love of his life.
But was it enough? Are the pair really throwing in the towel for actual ever? Or can we expect to see them skipping into Sugar Hut together once more?
We have everything crossed because we NEED some happy relationship news. And we're suckers for true love.
