Caroline Nokes MP, the head of the all-party Parliamentary group on body image, claimed that an invitation was sent to VB and a number of other top model agencies, but were igrnored.

"I have written to a number of model agencies including Wilhelmina, Models 1 and Storm and also to Victoria Beckham, whose show at New York fashion week drew such attention to this already concerning problem," Caroline told the newspaper.

"Sadly, I have received no response from any of them and I think this is a real shame."

From Victoria Beckham S/S 2016 show at New York Fashion Week in September.

"Victoria herself has said she wants her designs to be for everybody. She has a great opportunity to show they can be for everybody and has chosen instead to use models who are incredibly thin," added the MP.

"Having been given the opportunity to take part I very much hope those who have declined to take part will not criticise its conclusions."

In September, the 41 year old fashion designer was criticised for using models that were 'too thin' on her recent catwalk show at New York Fashion Week.
