Yesterday it was announced that Boy George and Paloma Faith we’re set to replace Rita Ora and Sir Tom Jones as coaches on The Voice, but it seems the Welsh legend didn't take the news well.

The It’s Not Unusual singer, who had been with the BBC show since its conception in 2010, told how the news he would be leaving the show came as a shock to him, as he had made time in his schedule to be a part of season 5.

Well this is painfully awkward.

He took to Facebook to express his feelings to his fans, saying:

“About The Voice UK: In good faith, as part of the team, I’d put the time in my schedule to be involved in Series 5, as I’ve done so for the last 4 years. I’ve supported the show and the BBC since the beginning. I was told yesterday, with no consultation or conversation of any kind, that I would not be returning.”

Seriously Tom, this is breaking our hearts.

He went on:

“Having been through plenty of transformations throughout the years, I support and admire creative change. But being informed, as a matter of duty and respect, is an important part of creative relationships. This sub-standard behaviour from the executives is very disappointing.”

Indeed! It seems someone needs to pull their socks up...

But the living legend did not want to leave things on a bad note, and said:

“I will always admire the courage of the performers who participate in the show, as well as all the production staff who worked tirelessly to make a great family viewing experience for the audience at home. I wish the show well."

Sir Tom, we're going to miss you.
