Westlife’s Shane Filan has announced that he's recorded a duet with none other than Girls Aloud’s Nadine Coyle, making us all nostalgic about '90s and '00s pop and love ballads.

The track the the Irish duo worked on is called I Could Be, and was co-written by the Westlife front man himself.

It will have an “undercurrent of Irish folk,” and feature on Shane's solo album Right Here, which launches on 25 September.

Shane said:

"So pleased to tell you that the brilliant @nadinecoyle has joined me in the studio to record a duet called 'I Could Be' for my new album"

And Nadine said on Twitter: "I am so happy for you all to see @ShaneFilan & I singing I could be."

While we are super excited to hear these rival lead vocalists hit all kinds of musical notes, we’re secretly hoping this will grow into the ultimate Girls Aloud and Westlife reunion. Sound Of The Underground/Seasons In The Sun mash up, anyone?
