In case we haven’t already mentioned it (we know we have, soz) but we're absolutely LOVING this year's The X Factor.

Quite frankly, we couldn’t give a shit about Christmas as the highlight of our December will defo be The X Factor final.

(OK we lie – we bloody LOVE Christmas and have a load of gift guides to show you just how much, but we also LOVE The X Factor)

Have you seen who the finalists will be performing their duets with? WE CAN'T WAIT.

Unfortunately, we've lost some INCREDIBLE contestants along the way and poor Emily Middlemas missed out on a place in the final last week.

Despite making it to the semi-finals, not everyone was a fan of Emily (one half of the first ever OFFICIAL X Factor couple) and former X Factor judge Nick Grimshaw had some things to say about her performance of Britney Spears' Toxic.

Nick tweeted: " I just watched someone play the ukulele and sing Toxic by Britney Spears on the X Factor and people pretended it wasn't horrible."

OUCH.

Since then, Emily has hit back at this comment. Speaking to OK! Magazine, the singer said: "Not everyone is going to like my voice and that's fine.

"He probably shouldn't tweet nasty things though. You never know what people's emotions are or what place they are in mentally."

Fair.

Emily seems to have also claimed that her mentor Simon Cowell's song choices were the reason she was booted off the show.

In an interview with Metro, she said: "Every single week I’d try and get my voice heard. And I always said 'I really wanna do something upbeat. I wanna do this! I wanna dance around the stage.'

"I wanted to show the younger audience that I’m young, that this is me, that there is another side to me. But yeah, Simon just wasn’t all for it, really. He didn’t 'see' any of the things I suggested."

INTERESTING.
