Did the BBC just MASSIVELY shade Channel 4 over GBBO?

The Great British Bake Off has been truly EPIC this year. We've had the pleasure of tuning in every week to see Candice Brown's technicolour lips, Tom Gilliford's penis bread, and we feel madly and deeply in love with Selasi Gbormittah.

SWOON.

But it hasn't been without controversy – even more than the 'bingate' dramz of 2014 when Diana Beard moved (and therefore RUINED) Iain Watters Baked Alaska. Or when Dorret Conway's cake slopped out of her mould and we watched the GIF on repeat while sobbing because it was SO SAD.

See?

The biggest shocker to come out of this series wasn't the fact that Selasi has a girlfriend (how could he not? Cry face), but that Love Productions decided to sell the rights to Channel 4 meaning there would be no more baking on the BBC.

Paul Hollywood decided to follow the dollar signs to Channel 4. But the scenes became well emosh once we knew that it would be the last time we saw Mary Berry, Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins talking soggy bottoms and spotted dicks.

Now it has been suggested that the producers at the Beeb used Great British Bake Off: Class of 2015 as an opportunity to throw some bready shade in the direction of GBBO's new home.

The spin off show looked at all the contestants form last year's batch, and narrator Jo Brand quipped: "What would Bake Off be without Mel and Sue?"

ZING.

Fans were super quick to jump on Twitter and point out that this could be the BBC's way of saying 'ner-nicky-ner-ner' to their broadcasting rival.

One said: "'What would Bake-Off be without Mel and Sue…?' asks the narrator, pointedly. What indeed? #GBBO"

Sneaky.

Viewers were sure there was something dodge going on a few weeks ago too, when scenes from this series saw Mel calling Paul and Mary "a match made in heaven".

BRB. We're uncontrollably crying again and this could last a while.
