Honey G (AKA the best thing to happen to The X Factor since Wagner, or maybe One Direction) has come under fire for "putting on an act" and dumbing herself down.
But surely nobody comes out the womb wearing sunglasses, a cap, and a lovely tracksuit, proclaiming to be the next Jay Z with Nicki Minaj's vibe?
Aren't we all, in some sense, putting on an act?
We're feeling philosophical AF today.
Anyway, an old school mate of Honey G's has said that her persona on the show is all fake and she's actually super smart and normal IRL.
"The kind of person she was was very switched on. There was none of this urban street persona – she was a smart student," the friend (named Stephanie Jones) said.
She's apparently so bloody posh that she plays tennis and has a degree in popular music!
Sidenote: you can do a degree in popular music? WHERE DO WE SIGN UP?
"It's all an act. I think it's just a joke and maybe it's got out of hand and she's got through first and second rounds," Stephanie added, speaking to The Sun.
If it is a joke, it's a darn good'un.
This is just the latest in a long line of theories about Honey G – our favourite being that she is actually David Cameron.
Like, seriously, SHE IS.

In other X Factor news, the house seems to be turning into a major couples' retreat / porkathon.
Emily Middlemas and Ryan Lawrie have been bonking all over the stairs (ALLEGEDLY) and Gifty Louise and Jordan Lee are apparently inseperable.
While celebrating Jordan's 21st birthday at the weekend, Gifty was referring to him as "baby" and "bae" in her Snapchat vids.
CUUUUTE.
